AFAD was eliminated from the African Confederation Cup on Saturday, October 24, in Sfax, following their 1-0 defeat against CS Sfaxien at the Taïeb-Mhiri stadium.
Iyed Belwafi scored the only goal of the match in the seventh minute. The Tunisian club then maintained this lead until the final whistle.
This result brings the aggregate score to 2-1 in favor of CS Sfaxien. AFAD had secured a 1-1 draw in the first leg played on October 17 at the Félix-Houphouët-Boigny stadium in Abidjan.
The Ivorian team thus exits the competition at the second preliminary round, while CS Sfaxien advances to the group stage of the 2026-2027 edition.
The Tunisian club has already won the Confederation Cup three times. The CAF specifies that it will aim for a fourth title, which would set a record in the competition.
