The Ivorian pagne manufacturer Uniwax recorded a net profit of 990.8 million CFA francs over the first nine months of 2026, compared to a comparative loss of 546.6 million a year earlier, according to its activity report published Wednesday, October 28, by the Regional Stock Exchange.

Revenue reached 22.48 billion FCFA as of September 30, an increase of only 0.04 percent year-on-year. The improvement mainly comes from operating income, which shifted from a loss of 349.8 million FCFA to a profit of 1.001 billion FCFA.

The result from ordinary activities follows the same trajectory. It stands at 973.7 million FCFA, whereas it was a deficit of 370.5 million in the comparable period of 2025.

Uniwax attributes this recovery to the maintenance of demand and acquired customers in 2025, the optimization of expenses and investments, as well as better cost control. The company also indicates that it has increased its production volume, which has improved its cost coverage and productivity.

The near stability of sales masks a change in the commercial scope. The Woodin brand is no longer part of Uniwax’s activities following the sale and transfer of the majority of shares, resulting in a loss estimated by the company at 508.6 million FCFA. However, sales of the Uniwax brand increased by 2.4 percent.

The financial result, however, deteriorated by 33.3 percent, increasing from an expense of 20.8 million FCFA to 27.7 million. Management attributes this change to less favorable banking conditions.

The comparison with 2025 requires an accounting adjustment. The report published last year showed a net profit of 8.14 billion FCFA at the end of September, largely supported by an exceptional capital gain on disposal. In the 2026 document, Uniwax removes this capital gain from the comparative base after establishing a regulated provision, which reduces the comparable net result for 2025 to a loss of 546.6 million FCFA.

As of September 30, 2026, the result from non-ordinary activities stands at 40.5 million FCFA and the recorded tax expense at 23.3 million, bringing the cumulative net profit to 990.8 million FCFA.
