The JCA Kings in the men’s category and the Friend’s Basketball Association in the women’s category won the two Ivorian basketball Supercups on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at the Treichville Sports Palace, defeating ASA 76-73 after overtime and SOA 63-53, respectively.

The men’s final was decided after five additional minutes following a 60-60 score at the end of regulation time. The JCA Kings led 37-26 at halftime before seeing ASA come back. Ben Konaté, who scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, was named the best player, while Mohamed Keita finished as the Kings’ top scorer with 18 points.

The FBA took control of the women’s final earlier by leading 33-19 at halftime. The SOA narrowed the gap after the break but did not overturn the Ivorian champions. Hanna Mabelle Amani scored 19 points in her debut, while Rokiatou Doumbia added 13 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.

This fourth consecutive victory for the FBA in the Supercup precedes a first continental challenge. The Ivorian club must compete from November 4 to 8 in Monrovia in the Zone 3 qualifiers of the Women’s Basketball League Africa. The top two teams in the tournament will advance to the final phase.

JCA Kings will remain in Abidjan to host the Elite 16 of the West Division of the Road to BAL from November 9 to 15. Eight teams will compete for the two qualifying spots for the 2027 season of the Basketball Africa League, according to the official FIBA schedule.

The finals on October 31 marked the first edition held under the name Supercup General Dem Aly Justin. The Ivorian Basketball Federation renamed the trophy in honor of the former president of the SOA basketball section, who passed away on July 31, 2026.

The Supercup opened the 2026-2027 national season, with the first championship matches starting on November 1st. The FIBB plans 572 games for 108 teams and 237 affiliated organizations, with the Golden League finals scheduled from May 21 to 23, 2027.
