Mauritania succeeded in their debut in the 2027 AFCON qualifiers by defeating the Central African Republic 3-1 on Thursday, September 24, in Casablanca. The Mourabitounes made the difference in the second half after being caught up with at the start of the second half.
Aboubakary Koïta opened the scoring with a penalty in the 32nd minute. The Central African Republic responded immediately in the 48th minute through Goduine Koyalipou, reigniting the match at the Larbi-Zaouli stadium.
The Mauritanian team regained the lead in the 69th minute thanks to Dawda Camara. Mamadou Diallo then secured the victory in the 89th minute, bringing the score to 3-1.
