Morocco secured a second consecutive victory in the 2027 AFCON qualifiers by defeating Lesotho 2-0 on Tuesday, September 29, at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein.
Brahim Diaz opened the scoring just before halftime, in the 44th minute, after a first half largely dominated by the Atlas Lions but long unproductive.
Ounahi secures Morocco’s safety
Azzedine Ounahi scored the second goal in the 81st minute, as Lesotho began to leave more space. Morocco controlled possession for the majority of the match.
This victory comes four days after the 2-0 win against Gabon in the first matchday. The Atlas Lions therefore have six points out of six and lead Group A.
Lesotho remains without a point after also losing its first match 2-1 against Niger.
