The United States Department of Commerce recommends that American companies explore several markets in Côte d’Ivoire, including agriculture, digital technology, energy, health, infrastructure, and extractive industries, in a guide updated on May 26, 2026, and highlighted again on Monday, October 12, by KOACI.

The official document presents agriculture and local processing as a primary set of opportunities. The sector accounts for about one-fifth of the gross domestic product and more than half of the country’s export revenues, according to the U.S. administration, which cites the needs for equipment, cold chains, packaging, and processing machinery.

In the digital sector, Washington notes public investment of more than 250 billion CFA francs committed in 2024 and identifies opportunities in cloud computing, cybersecurity, payments, online commerce, and educational technologies.

The guide also highlights hydrocarbons, electricity, and mining. It estimates Ivorian oil production at approximately 250,000 barrels per day and cites the needs for offshore equipment, pipelines, underwater services, and electricity production from gas.

Transport infrastructure also occupies a central place. The new deep-water terminal at the port of Abidjan has a capacity exceeding 1.5 million twenty-foot equivalent containers, while road and rail corridors and dry ports remain key development areas.

KOACI reports that the National Development Plan 2026-2030 represents $206 billion in investments, of which more than 70 percent are expected from the private sector. The American guide also notes that companies can respond to tenders from the African Development Bank, the World Bank, and other multilateral institutions based in Abidjan.
