The Public Treasury of Côte d’Ivoire regularly makes mass payments through the Interoperable Platform of the Instant Payment System, PI-SPI, announced the Central Bank of West African States in a statement dated October 8, 2026. The Ivorian administration has met the necessary requirements and standards for this connection.
The system allows Public Treasuries to make payments, as well as to collect revenues, with real-time monitoring of operations. The BCEAO cites salaries, scholarships, and subsidies among the possible payments, as well as taxes and duties on the revenue side.
The benefit for users lies in the ability to carry out these transactions regardless of the account of the beneficiary or the person paying the administration. The central bank presents this interconnection as a way to make financial exchanges with the State more accessible, faster, and more secure.
Ivory Coast is listed in the statement as a case of effective operation of the platform for public payments. The other Treasuries of the West African Economic and Monetary Union benefit from assistance from the BCEAO to gradually join the regional system.
