Ivory Coast defeated Mauritania 3-2 on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at the Agora in Port-Bouët, Abidjan, during the first leg of the second round of qualifications for the Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations.

This victory gives the Elephants a one-goal advantage ahead of the return leg scheduled for October 18 at the Pape Amghar Dieng Stadium in Nouakchott. Qualification will be decided on the aggregate score of the two matches.

The Ivorian team will therefore need to maintain its lead in Mauritania to reach the final phase. A draw in the return match would suffice, while a one-goal defeat would require the teams to be separated according to the competition rules.

The African Football Confederation confirmed the scores among the weekend results. Morocco won 4-2 in Libya, Angola dominated Egypt by the same score, and Malawi triumphed 6-2 in the Seychelles. Burundi and Uganda drew 4-4, while Tanzania and Mozambique ended with a 1-1 score.

Seven matchups make up this second round, and their winners will join Senegal, qualified as the host country. The final phase of the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled from November 7 to 15, 2026, in Senegal.
