Ivorian Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé opened on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at the Abidjan Exhibition Park in Port-Bouët, the third edition of the Abidjan Border Forum, dedicated to the links between culture, integration, and security in African border areas.

The proceedings are scheduled to continue until Thursday, October 22, with public officials, diplomats, experts, and community representatives. The forum aims to bring security policies closer to the social, economic, and cultural realities experienced on both sides of the borders.

At the opening, Robert Beugré Mambé called for borders to be considered as spaces for cooperation and shared development. His remarks, reported by the government portal and the Ivorian media outlet Koaci, placed border populations at the center of the discussions.

The official event website presents the meeting as a framework for coordination between the continental, regional, and national levels. The stated objective is to make border management policies more coherent while facilitating integration and exchanges between communities.

The first edition, held in Abidjan in October 2022, had already addressed border management from several perspectives, including diplomacy, peace, development, health, and legal security. The 2026 edition continues this approach with a theme dedicated to border communities.

The official program provides for the final morning the presentation of the results of a hackathon, the summary of the work, the reading of motions, and the reading of an Abidjan Declaration on border peoples.
