Nine cassava processing sites were provisionally handed over to women’s groups from the departments of Bocanda and Kouassi-Kouassikro, in central Côte d’Ivoire, following a mission conducted from October 6 to 9, 2026.
Seven facilities are located in the Bocanda department, in Bengassou, Dida Mouessou, Kotokounou, Souamékro, Konan N’Drikro, Salebalekro, and Bledi. Two others have been delivered in Mekro and Kouassi-Kouassikro.
The buildings were constructed as part of the Project to Strengthen the Livelihoods of Smallholders and Women in the N’Zi Region. The beneficiaries received the keys following provisional inspections conducted at the various sites.
The project technical managers noted minor reservations and requested adjustments from the companies responsible for the work. However, they considered that the facilities could already be occupied and operated by the groups.
The handover of the buildings does not mean that all units already have their final equipment. The women must begin to use the sites with the resources available to them, while awaiting the complete equipment and the official inauguration announced by the project.
The initiative aims to bring processing facilities closer to production areas and to improve the working conditions of the beneficiaries. The provisional acceptance mission was completed on Friday, October 9, after visiting the nine sites.
