The Senate of Côte d’Ivoire paid tribute on Friday, October 16, 2026, in Abidjan to Maïmouna Bamba, wife of Dosso, who passed away eight days earlier, before her posthumous elevation to the rank of knight in the National Order.

The ceremony took place at the institution’s headquarters in Attoban, in the Cocody district, under the presidency of Kandia Camara. It brought together parliamentarians, institutional officials, and members of the deceased’s family.

The distinction was presented to the family following the military funeral honors. The national flag was also handed over to the relatives, according to the Senate, while the funeral oration was delivered by Senator Mariam Dao Gabala.

Appointed senator in 2019 and reappointed in 2023, Maïmouna Bamba Dosso served on the Social and Cultural Affairs Committee. She was also the first president of the Caucus of Women Senators of Côte d’Ivoire.

In this role, she worked on solidarity among elected women, women’s rights, and gender equality. The Senate cited this commitment as one of the reasons for the tribute paid to her.

His son, Abdul Karim Dosso, thanked the President of the Senate, the parliamentarians, and the institution’s staff for their support. Maïmouna Bamba Dosso had passed away on October 8 in Abidjan, and the institution announced her death the following day.
