The Ivorian Observatory for Human Rights (OIDH) is requesting from the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) a detailed status report on the investigations concerning crimes committed in Côte d’Ivoire, fifteen years after the Court was authorized to open its investigations.
In a letter addressed to The Hague, the organization chaired by Eric-Aimé Sémien requests updated information on the progress of the proceedings, the judicial prospects, and the cases that remain open.
The process was initiated on October 3, 2026, marking the fifteenth anniversary of the decision by Pre-Trial Chamber III authorizing the ICC Prosecutor to investigate the violence related to the 2010-2011 post-election crisis.
The OIDH states that it respects the independence of the Office of the Prosecutor and the confidentiality of the proceedings, but believes that a public update on the overall status of the investigations is necessary for the victims and human rights organizations.
The ICC investigations into Côte d’Ivoire concern crimes within its jurisdiction committed since November 28, 2010.
