The West African Development Bank (BOAD) aims to increase the share of its financing allocated to Ivorian private companies as part of its 2026-2030 strategic plan.
On Thursday, October 1, in Abidjan, the bank presented its financing instruments for businesses during a breakfast debate organized with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Côte d’Ivoire (CCI-CI).
Nearly 300 billion CFA francs approved in the first half of the year
According to Franchy Nago, head of the BOAD resident mission in Côte d’Ivoire, the institution has committed more than 1,100 billion CFA francs in the country between 2021 and 2025. Commitments reached nearly 329 billion in 2024 and then 350 billion in 2025.
In the first half of 2026, nearly 300 billion FCFA in funding had already been approved. The new strategic plan aims to achieve a rebalancing between interventions in support of the public sector and those intended for the private sector.
The CCI-CI also aims to help companies better structure their projects and files in order to access the bank’s mechanisms. Its president, Touré Faman, believes that the challenge is to transform financing opportunities into projects that create value and jobs.
