The Australian company Aurum Resources Limited has announced the discovery of a world-class gold deposit in the Boundiali and Kouto region, with estimated resources of approximately 115 tonnes of gold.
The announcement was made on Thursday, October 8, 2026, in Abidjan to Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé. The company plans to continue its drilling to increase the project’s resources before the start of the production phase.
Construction of the mine is scheduled to begin at the end of 2026, with the first gold pour expected in the first half of 2028.
The project plans for a processing capacity of 6.8 million tonnes of ore per year and an estimated production of 6.2 tonnes of gold per year. The required investment is estimated at approximately 503 million dollars.
During the construction phase, approximately 4,200 direct and indirect jobs are announced, followed by more than 2,200 during the operational phase.
