One hundred and forty residents of the National Orphanage for Girls in Grand-Bassam received school kits on Thursday, October 8, handed out by KT7 Production, organizer of the Mother Africa Festival. Each schoolgirl from CP1 to ninth grade received a set of supplies for the school year.

The handover took place in the presence of the institution’s officials and Becho Maurice Logba, deputy director in charge of public and private protection and replacement establishments. He represented the Ministry of Women, Family, and Children.

The official presented support for the schooling of vulnerable children as a shared responsibility between the State, local authorities, businesses, associations, and individuals. The beneficiaries were encouraged to use the materials to support their attendance and schoolwork.

The KT7 Production delegation was led by its president, Kimany Tayoro. The organization frames this handover as part of a new solidarity initiative aimed at extending the festival’s activities beyond its cultural and musical programming.

The initiative is set to continue in future editions, according to the organizers. The fifth edition of the Mother Africa Festival is scheduled for December 26 and 27 in Marcory, in the south of Abidjan.

Created in 2022 in Abidjan, the festival is dedicated to African music, cultures, and arts. The distribution in Grand-Bassam constitutes the first announced action of its social program for children.
