FC San Pedro defeated FC Nouadhibou 2-1 on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the Laurent-Pokou Stadium in San-Pédro, during the first leg of the second preliminary round of the African Champions League.

The Ivorian club opened the scoring before being equalized by the Mauritanian team before the break. Karamoko then scored the decisive goal at the end of the match, giving the Pétruciens a one-goal advantage over the course of the tie.

This success places San Pedro in a favorable position without closing the contest for qualification. The Ivorian representative will need to maintain this narrow lead during the return leg scheduled in Mauritania.

San Pedro had reached this round after two draws against Rivers United. The aggregate score of 3-3 qualified the Ivorian club thanks to away goals.

Nouadhibou had followed a similar path against Vipers SC. After a 1-1 draw in Uganda, the Mauritanian champion secured a 0-0 score at home and advanced past the first round by the same rule.

The Confederation of African Football will allocate sixteen spots for the group stage following this second preliminary round. The start of this phase is scheduled for the end of November.

The CAF has scheduled the second-leg matches of this round between October 23 and 25, 2026.
