The president of SYNAP-CI, Koné Moussa, called on Friday, September 25, 2026, for the cocoa producers gathered in Biankouma to maintain their mobilization as part of the unlimited strike launched in mid-September.
The meeting was part of a national tour by the union to meet with planters. Koné Moussa urged the producers not to give in to pressure and to maintain, in his view, the union character rather than a partisan nature of their movement.
The SYNAP-CI is notably calling for an increase in the incomes of producers and contests several aspects of the governance of the coffee-cocoa sector. The union is also demanding the resignation of the Director General of the Coffee-Cocoa Council.
The strike was launched on September 16 after several weeks of demands. The movement affects the main production areas and is accompanied by a union mobilization tour.
