Ibrahim Mbaye scored the only goal of the match as early as the 12th minute, assisted by Nicolas Jackson. Senegal then had to defend their lead against an Ethiopian team that repeatedly threatened Yéhvann Diouf’s goal.
A victory after the draw in Mozambique
The Senegalese goalkeeper was particularly decisive in the second half with a close-range save from a header by Kenean Markneh. The Lions were unable to extend their lead but maintained their advantage until the final whistle.
