ASEC Mimosas will face MAS de Fès on Sunday, October 18, in Meknès, Morocco, in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League. The Yellow and Black approach this trip after three matches without a win in the Ivorian championship.

This two-legged tie will determine access to the group stage. ASEC will play the first leg away, at the Stade d’Honneur in Meknès, before the return leg in Côte d’Ivoire.

In Ligue 1, Julien Chevalier’s players have two points from three matches. They began with a 1-0 defeat against Yamoussoukro FC on September 26, then drew twice, against Stella Club on October 4 (0-0) and AFAD on October 10 (1-1), according to their official schedule.

The latest match saw ASEC respond at the end of the game. Trailing after Mohamed Touré’s goal in the 78th minute, the Mimosas equalized thanks to Kevin Bakaré in the 85th, the club reports. Over these three league matches, their record stands at one goal scored and two conceded.

The continental journey has already allowed ASEC to advance past one round. The Mimosas eliminated ASCK of Togo in the first qualifying stage, before this match against MAS de Fès.
