Air Côte d’Ivoire announced on Monday, October 26, in Abidjan temporary disruptions to its regional flights, with several aircraft grounded for maintenance, including a plane struck by a bird in Bamako on October 23.

The national company explains that the simultaneous unavailability of several aircraft temporarily reduces its operational capacity and causes irregularities in its schedule. It did not specify the number of aircraft involved or the affected routes.

Passengers whose trips are modified must be contacted individually, according to the general management. Air Côte d’Ivoire states that it has mobilized its technical and operational teams to assist customers and gradually restore the schedule.

The aircraft involved in the Bamako incident suffered a bird strike on Friday, October 23. The company has not disclosed either the model of the plane or the extent of the inspections required before it can be returned to service.

The official Air Côte d’Ivoire website offers a flight status consultation service and a reservation management area. Travelers can check their itinerary there before heading to the airport.

No timeline for a full return to normal had been announced as of Tuesday morning. The company attributes these adjustments to a temporarily reduced availability of its regional fleet.
