The fights of the African MMA Championships organized under the auspices of the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA) are scheduled from October 13 to 15 at the Treichville Sports Palace in Abidjan. The Ivorian Federation of Mixed Martial Arts presented the final preparations for this continental event on Saturday, October 10.

The official schedule specifies the dates relevant to the spectators. The event is announced by GAMMA from October 12 to 16, but this period includes the arrival and departure of the teams. The matches, however, are concentrated on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Monday, October 12 is dedicated primarily to registrations, accreditations, equipment checks, as well as weigh-ins and medical examinations. A technical meeting and the draw are also scheduled to take place before the start of the competition.

This championship falls under amateur MMA and includes several age categories, from youth to seniors, with both male and female events. The schedule places the youth finals on Wednesday, while the under-21 and senior finals are set to continue on Thursday.

During its presentation in Abidjan, the president of the Ivorian federation, Jackson Tapé, mentioned around twenty expected countries. GAMMA, for its part, had announced fifteen national federations already registered in a report published on September 25. These two figures correspond to different stages of the preparation.

The list provided in September notably included Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Mali, Senegal, and Togo, alongside delegations from other regions of the continent. The teams are scheduled to depart on Friday, October 16.
