Doropo has recorded 30 confirmed cases of yellow fever and 14 deaths, announced on Saturday, October 24, 2026, the regional Health Director of Bounkani, Dr. Kouakou Albert, while a vaccination campaign is being conducted until November 1 in the departments of Doropo and T\u00e9hini.<\/p>\n
The health official reported 93 suspected cases recorded in Doropo, including 30 confirmed cases. The campaign, launched on Friday, October 23, at the city\u2019s modern high school, targets individuals aged nine months to 59 years.<\/p>\n
Health authorities have assured that doses are available and have urged students and community relays to encourage vaccination in both departments. The operation aims to reduce transmission in this part of the Bounkani region.<\/p>\n
The new local toll comes ten days after an initial government report indicating 23 reported cases and 11 deaths across the entire Bounkani region. The two figures do not cover exactly the same area, as the October 24 report distinguishes between suspected and confirmed cases in Doropo.<\/p>\n
On October 14, the government spokesperson, Amadou Coulibaly, stated that more than 400,000 vaccine doses were available and that an additional stock had been ordered. At that time, the authorities claimed to have identified no outbreak outside of Bounkani.<\/p>\n
A bulletin from the World Health Organization, finalized at the 34th epidemiological week, had previously recorded 14 confirmed cases in eight Ivorian districts, including five in Doropo and two in T\u00e9hini. These earlier data indicate that epidemiological monitoring has since been updated in the northeast of the country.<\/p>\n
