The Youth Employment Agency announced on Saturday, October 24, the opening of a service desk at the Industrial Vocational High School in Daloa, aimed at bringing students closer to internships, guidance, and integration programs.

Located within the institution, this contact point is intended to enable learners to begin their internship searches during their training and to better identify offers that match the skills sought by companies.

The announcement comes the day after the decentralized phase of the National Technical Education Fair held in Daloa. The Minister for Youth Promotion, Mamadou Touré, and the Delegate Minister in charge of Technical Education, Jean-Louis Moulot, presented the training pathways and employment access mechanisms there.

Nearly 10,000 young people graduate each year from technical and vocational education in Côte d’Ivoire, according to Mamadou Touré. Many still face difficulties securing a first internship, a step that the new office is intended to help prepare for directly within the high school.

The government plans to deploy this type of service across all technical and vocational high schools. The objective is to begin support from the first year of training and to increase the periods of immersion in companies before leaving school.

Jean-Louis Moulot also emphasized the adaptation of programs to the needs of the labor market. Digital technology, artificial intelligence, welding, jewelry making, and the processing of agricultural products are among the sectors mentioned in Daloa.

The National Technical Education Fair has also prioritized the promotion of young girls in industrial fields and the integration of artificial intelligence into the curricula.
