The Chinese hospital ship Ark of Good Omen, which arrived Wednesday, October 14, at the port of Abidjan, is set to provide a week of free consultations and care with a target of around 4,000 patients, announced the Chief of Staff of the Ivorian Navy, C\u00e9lestin Kouam\u00e9 N\u2019Guessan. This first stopover in C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire will continue until October 21 as part of the Harmony 2026 mission.<\/p>\n
The announced number corresponds to the people the mission hopes to assist, and not to a tally of patients already treated. The services involve specialist doctors, surgeons, and nursing staff. They notably cover cardiology, pediatrics, gynecology, ophthalmology, diabetology, and general surgery.<\/p>\n
For those wishing to benefit from these treatments, the arrival of the building does not, however, signify the launch of a new registration campaign. The system presented before the stopover provided for free pre-registrations from September 1 to 30 at military health centers and several health services of uniformed corps, as well as at the Military Hospital of Abidjan.<\/p>\n
The health centers of the National Police, Customs, Maritime Affairs, and Water and Forests were also among the pre-registration points. An information line, 01 01 11 63 70, had been provided to the public in this announcement relayed by 7info.<\/p>\n
According to the Autonomous Port of Abidjan, the ship has 300 beds and eight operating rooms, distributed within a facility comprising 18 clinical departments. The mission involves consultations, examinations, and specialized procedures during the stopover.<\/p>\n
The ship, also known as Jixiang Fangzhou, was welcomed in the presence of officials from the Ivorian Navy and the Chinese ambassador, Wu Jie.
