Ivory Coast and the World Bank Group have initiated the identification of projects within the 2026-2030 National Development Plan (PND) that could benefit from the $17 billion announced by the institution. The decision was made during a meeting held on Friday, October 9, between the Minister of Planning and Development, Souleymane Diarrassouba, and Marie-Chantal Uwanyiligira, World Bank Country Director for Ivory Coast, Benin, Guinea, and Togo.<\/p>\n
The envelope announced in July is divided between 10 billion dollars from the World Bank, 5 billion dollars from the International Finance Corporation, and 2 billion dollars from the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency. The latter portion is intended to cover risks related to the supported operations.<\/p>\n
Investments will be selected from the strategic and structuring programs of the plan\u2019s six pillars. The discussions also focused on reducing regional disparities, modernizing the land registry, and diversifying financing mechanisms.<\/p>\n
The 2026-2030 NDP plans for 114,838.5 billion CFA francs in investments over five years. The government expects 70.2 percent of this amount from the private sector and 29.8 percent from the public sector, according to data published by the Ministry of Planning.<\/p>\n
The commitments of 17 billion dollars were announced during the Advisory Group meeting held on July 8 and 9 in Abidjan. The phase launched in October now aims to link these announcements to specific operations within the national portfolio.<\/p>\n
As of June 30, 2026, the World Bank’s ongoing commitments in C\u00f4te d’Ivoire amounted to 25 operations representing approximately 7 billion dollars, according to the ministry.
