The cooperative societies of Ind\u00e9ni\u00e9-Djuablin are raising the alarm about a leakage of part of the cocoa production to Ghana, where some buyers are offering prices higher than the official Ivorian price of 1,200 FCFA per kilogram.<\/p>\n
The alert was issued on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, in Abengourou, on the occasion of the regional launch of the 2026-2027 coffee and cocoa marketing campaign.<\/p>\n
According to the cooperatives, buyers go directly to the plantations and offer amounts higher than the farm-gate price set in C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire. They believe that this situation encourages informal exports of beans to neighboring Ghana.<\/p>\n
Sector officials are calling for increased monitoring of marketing channels and border areas, as well as better support for producers to limit sales outside the official circuit.<\/p>\n
