Ivory Coast was defeated 0-1 by Cameroon on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Alassane Ouattara Olympic Stadium in Ebimpé, in their final match of the international window. The Indomitable Lions made the difference after the break, following a goalless first half.

The Cameroonian goal came as early as the 47th minute. Despite several changes and an attempt to respond, the Elephants were unable to equalize, thus conceding their first defeat of this international sequence.

Hervé Renard had chosen to rotate his team, with Alban Lafont in goal, Ousmane Diomandé, Emmanuel Agbadou, Kassoum Ouattara, and Christ Tapé in defense. Patrick Zabi Gueu, Amadou Koné, and Ibrahim Sangaré made up the midfield, while Bazoumana Touré, Yann Gboho, and Rayan Fofana formed the attacking trio.

This match came after two Ivorian victories in the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. Ivory Coast approached this duel as a high-level test, in a rivalry that the Ivorian staff and several key players had described before the match as going beyond a simple friendly.

Cameroon leaves Abidjan with a 1-0 victory, secured by the only goal scored in the 47th minute at the Ebimpé Stadium.
