Laurent Gbagbo, candidate of the PPA-CI party for the 2025 presidential election in C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire, has launched a sponsorship collection campaign, now a key requirement under the country\u2019s electoral law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The former head of state has set up a Sponsorship Collection Committee (CCP), led by Odette Sauyet, vice-president of the party and chair of the oversight committee. She will be supported by Damana Adia Pickass, tasked with mobilizing local leaders to involve party members and sympathizers in the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The technical aspect\u2014centralization, verification, and archiving of the sponsorships\u2014will be handled by Ma\u00eetre Habiba Traor\u00e9 and Kaza Djah. St\u00e9phane Kipr\u00e9 will be responsible for energizing local bases, organizing information sessions, and motivating activists on the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This mobilization comes in the context of a new government ordinance, adopted following a proposal by the Independent Electoral Commission (CEI). The reform modifies Article 51 of the Electoral Code: sponsorships must now come from all 31 regions of the country as well as the two autonomous districts, Abidjan and Yamoussoukro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
