Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has claimed that his side performs better without Kylian Mbapp\u00e9, calling the French star\u2019s departure \u201ca shame,\u201d but also a turning point for the team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking after PSG\u2019s 2-1 win over Arsenal in the Champions League semi-final second leg on Wednesday night, Enrique reflected on the club\u2019s evolution since Mbapp\u00e9 joined Real Madrid last summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\u201cI believe I was very bold last season when I said we\u2019d be a better team without Mbapp\u00e9. I still believe that. The stats are there,\u201d Enrique said, as quoted by @TouchlineX.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
The Spanish coach stressed that while losing a player of Mbapp\u00e9\u2019s caliber was unfortunate, the squad has risen to the challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\u201cLosing Mbapp\u00e9 was unfortunate, but the players took it as a challenge. I would have loved to continue with him, but I\u2019d rather have four players scoring 12 goals each than one scoring 40,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
PSG now heads to the Champions League final, where they will face Inter Milan on May 31<\/strong> in Munich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
