The information was confirmed Sunday evening by Rwandan Foreign Minister Olivier Nduhungirehe during an interview with the public broadcaster Rwanda TV. \u201cWe are in discussions with the United States,\u201d he stated, adding that the talks are still in their early stages: \u201cWe have not yet reached a point where we can say exactly how things will unfold, but discussions are ongoing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rwanda has already stood out for its unconventional migration policies. In 2022, the country signed an agreement with the United Kingdom to receive thousands of asylum seekers who had arrived in Britain. However, the project was abandoned in 2024 by newly elected Prime Minister Keir Starmer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
