The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has confirmed the relegation of local side Muhoroni Youth following a FIFA ruling that found the club guilty of match manipulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The decision comes after the world football governing body concluded that the second-tier club was involved in fixing matches, marking the latest scandal to hit Kenyan football, which has long struggled with integrity issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Friday, FIFA declared Muhoroni Youth “guilty of activities related to the manipulation of football matches and competitions.” As a result, the club\u2019s senior team has been expelled from the FKF National Super League, the country\u2019s second division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Muhoroni Youth will now be required to play in the Division One League\u2014the third tier of Kenyan football\u2014starting next season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In response, the FKF stated it “fully supports FIFA\u2019s decision” and reiterated its “zero-tolerance policy towards match-fixing and any form of manipulation that undermines the integrity of the game.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
