Far from the confident, smiling figure seen on screen, she shared how online trolls targeted her personal life\u2014especially her relationships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere was a video circulating on social media of women mocking me because I didn\u2019t have a husband,\u201d she said. \u201cMy God! I saw all the insults. I saw people saying I left one husband for another.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A burden too heavy to carry alone<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The emotional weight became overwhelming. \u201cI cried and cried and cried. I told myself: \u2018You have to talk to someone. You can\u2019t keep going like this.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That moment of introspection led her to take a step that remains taboo in many African societies: seeking professional help. \u201cI reached out and started talking. I did things I couldn\u2019t tell anyone. I spoke with my therapist, and I started to feel better,\u201d she revealed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A message of hope for silent sufferers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Funke Akindele used her deeply personal story to send a powerful message to others struggling in silence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s so important to speak up. You need to. You can\u2019t carry everything alone. I\u2019m so much stronger now.
