Cameroonian President Paul Biya has publicly praised, via a statement on the social media platform X, the crucial role played by civil society in the political, social, and cultural life of the country. He described it as “dynamic” and a key actor in civic education and the promotion of numerous national causes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In his message, the Head of State emphasized that civil society\u2014comprising NGOs, labor unions, community associations, and other grassroots organizations\u2014actively contributes to building a more inclusive democracy and supporting national development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCameroonian civil society is remarkably dynamic and makes a valued contribution to civic education and the promotion of causes of various kinds\u2014political, economic, cultural, environmental, and professional,\u201d President Biya stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His remarks come at a time when civil society is playing an increasingly important role in raising public awareness, defending human rights, and helping shape more effective public policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the President, a strong democratic state cannot exist without the active and constructive participation of grassroots actors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
