On April 12, 2025, Schadrac Watow\u00e9d\u00e9 Houngnibo, the Benin-based National Coordinator of Kemi Seba\u2019s NGO Urgences Panafricanistes, was arrested. After eight days in custody, he was transferred to Cotonou Civil Prison, and his court hearing is scheduled for May 19, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to a statement from Urgences Panafricanistes, Houngnibo is being prosecuted for \u201charassment and spreading false information.\u201d \u201cWe strongly denounce this attempt to intimidate and hinder our pan-African struggle,\u201d the NGO declared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The national coordination team of Urgences Panafricanistes also expressed \u201cgratitude to all supporters and activists who are showing solidarity and mobilizing to demand the immediate and unconditional release of Schadrac Watow\u00e9d\u00e9 Houngnibo.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOur commitment to a free and sovereign Africa cannot be silenced by arbitrary tactics,\u201d the NGO affirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
