The Plateau City Hall has announced steps to seek redress from the supervisory authority following the demolition of part of the facilities at Oxy Park II, on the Abidjan Lagoon Promenade, by the services of the Autonomous District.
The operation was carried out during the night of September 11 to 12 on the bank located between the Félix Houphouët-Boigny and Général-de-Gaulle bridges. The municipality states that it was not consulted prior to the intervention and disputes the conditions under which the installations were destroyed.

According to figures provided by the town hall, the total investments made on this section of the Lagoon Promenade amount to approximately 1.228 billion FCFA.
The municipality estimates the cost of the Oxy Park II site alone at 359.5 million FCFA. The project was to include twelve food stalls and was part of a broader program comprising sports facilities, an urban mini-golf course, and an outdoor fitness area.
For its part, the Autonomous District had presented its intervention as an operation of liberation, sanitation, and redevelopment of the lagoon bay. The dispute notably concerns the coordination of responsibilities between the District and the municipality in the management of this area.
