Nigeria: bank employee filmed over 400 nude videos of coworkers

An employee at Access Bank in Lagos was caught in the act of illegally recording footage inside the women’s restroom of the company’s premises.

More than 400 videos—allegedly showing nude or partially dressed colleagues—were recovered from his devices, with some reportedly shared on platforms such as OnlyFans. The suspect, Stephen Ifeanyichukwu Ejezie, a former quality assurance specialist, is now at the center of a scandal that has sparked outrage and fear within the Nigerian banking institution.

Stephen Ejezie, who joined Access Bank in February 2023, was caught around 1:30 a.m. last Wednesday hiding in the women’s restroom at the bank’s contact center in Oniru, Lagos State.

A female employee, who was showering at the time, discovered a phone actively recording from an adjacent stall. Ejezie was caught red-handed and confronted by colleagues, failing to provide a valid explanation for his presence or the recording device.

Following an alert raised by the bank, a police search reportedly uncovered over 400 explicit videos stored on his electronic devices.

The footage is said to include both male and female colleagues filmed without their knowledge while undressing or showering. According to sources close to the investigation, the content was monetized on OnlyFans and circulated on Telegram to buyers in Europe and Asia.

No criminal prosecution yet

At Access Bank, shock and dismay have spread among staff. The former colleague—once described as professional and friendly—has had his contract terminated. However, his release by the police and the absence of any formal criminal charges have sparked outrage among employees.

Many fear the bank may be prioritizing its public image over justice and employee safety.

“They’re tightening shift checks, but nothing is being said about legal action. We fear the whole case might be buried,” said one staff member under anonymity.

A meeting called by management on Friday morning failed to calm concerns. So far, the bank has made no official statement regarding the scandal.
