Cameroonian Mahamadou Nagida and Moroccan Abdelhamid Aït Boudlal scored the two goals for Rennes’ victory against OFI Crete on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at Roazhon Park. This 2-1 win in the second round of the Europa League is the Breton club’s first in this stage of the competition.

Rennes was, however, trailing from the tenth minute, when Taxiarchis Fountas opened the scoring for the visitors. Nagida equalized in the 76th minute with the outside of his left foot, before Aït Boudlal converted in stoppage time a ball pushed away by the goalkeeper on a new attempt by the Cameroonian.

Rennes thus bring their total to four points, after the 0-0 draw achieved on the field of Sturm Graz in their opening match. Against OFI, they had to wait until the end of the game to convert their dominance, having notably hit the crossbar through Nagida in the first half.

Coach Franck Haise praised the perseverance of his players while noting a lack of precision against the Greek defensive block. He also highlighted Nagida’s progress in his decision-making and Aït Boudlal’s response, who was involved in the error preceding the opposing goal. The coach considered his team’s presence in the penalty area to be better in the second half.
