American rapper Chris Brown has been remanded in custody following a Manchester court decision on Friday, where Magistrate Joanne Hirst denied his request for release on bail.
The judge ruled that the case fell outside the jurisdiction of the magistrates’ court and ordered it to be transferred to the Southwark Crown Court in London. The next hearing is scheduled for June 13, 2025.
Brown was arrested Thursday at the Lowry Hotel in Salford in connection with an alleged bottle attack at Tape nightclub in Mayfair, London. He is facing charges of grievous bodily harm after allegedly assaulting music executive Abe Diaw during an incident in 2023.
Diaw has also filed a civil lawsuit against the R&B star, seeking $16 million in damages for the injuries sustained and financial losses incurred as a result of the attack.
