The State General Inspectorate (IGE) launched a training session in Abidjan focused on the development of risk maps and mitigation plans in five Ivorian municipalities, with the aim of strengthening internal control and preventing malfunctions in local authorities.
The approach should enable the relevant local administrations to identify risks that may affect their activities, assess their impact, and define appropriate responses before they turn into irregularities or losses for the communities.

Risk mapping is used to identify sensitive points in administrative, financial, and operational procedures. It then allows for the prioritization of controls and the development of mitigation plans tailored to the most significant risks.
The training brings together officials and agents from the concerned municipalities as well as public oversight actors. The IGE thus aims to further disseminate audit and risk management methods at the local level.
This initiative complements the actions undertaken by the State General Inspectorate to strengthen the auditing of public contracts and professionalize the mechanisms for monitoring public action.
The ultimate goal is to reduce vulnerabilities in municipal management and to improve the traceability of decisions and public expenditures.
