Ivory Coast: gospel singer sparks controversy with confession of sexual encounter in church

A shocking revelation on Ivorian television has caused a stir on social media after a gospel singer admitted to having had sexual relations inside a church. The confession was made during the broadcast of Le Vrai Match on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, on LIFE TV, a popular channel in Ivory Coast.

The guest, a gospel singer known for her performances in Christian circles, stunned viewers when she shared, live on air, that she had engaged in sexual activity at a church following a rehearsal session.

“We did it at church after rehearsal. I’m originally a gospel singer. It was on a Saturday—we usually rehearse on Saturdays. That day, rehearsal went on until 10:40 p.m. When something’s unplanned, it’s more exciting. So it just happened. But I want to clarify that it was a long time ago,” she stated.

Her confession has sparked a wave of reactions online, with many expressing outrage over what they see as a disrespectful act in a sacred space.

As of now, neither LIFE TV nor any religious authorities have issued official statements. However, the incident continues to generate intense debate on social media and is likely to remain a hot topic in the days ahead.
