The Beta Veg Oil factory dedicated to the processing of shea and soy is set to be inaugurated on Monday, October 12, 2026, in Kongodékro, in the municipality of Bouaké. The facility announces a capacity of 200 tons per day, or approximately 70,000 tons of raw materials processed per year.
The planned production includes shea butter, soybean oil, and oilcakes intended for the Ivorian and external markets. The project is thus expected to add a local industrial processing stage to sectors where part of the value is still created after the export of raw materials.
The first phase represents an announced investment of 5 billion CFA francs. The total amount is expected to reach 10 billion CFA francs at the end of a second phase, according to the figures provided during the project launch.
The first stone was laid on January 25, 2025, by the Minister of Transport and Mayor of Bouaké, Amadou Koné. The scheduled inauguration takes place nearly twenty-one months after this ceremony and following an initial timeline that envisaged an opening by the end of 2025.
The developers anticipate the creation of 200 direct jobs at the start and approximately 900 positions in the long term. These projections will need to be assessed in line with the actual capacity ramp-up of the plant.
The project is part of the Bouaké Nouveau program, launched in 2023, focused on the modernization of infrastructure and the industrialization of the city. It also stems from the momentum of the Invest in Bouaké forum, which aims to attract private capital to the country’s second-largest city.
