Important Update: WhatsApp Now Has A New Minimum Age Requirement

WhatsApp, the popular messaging platform, has recently updated its minimum age requirement for users, lowering it from 16 to 13 years to align with international usage policies.

WhatsApp has introduced new regulations regarding its use, one of which includes a significant update likely to spark interest among users, especially those with teenagers at home.

The messaging service has announced a reduction in the minimum age required to create an account on its platform. The requirement now shifts from 16 down to 13 years (or the minimum age required by your country), similar to Facebook and Instagram, which are also part of the Meta family of social networks. “You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to register for and use WhatsApp. You can also visit our Terms of Service for more information. Note: Creating an account with false information is a violation of our Terms. Moreover, creating an account on behalf of someone who is not authorized to register due to their age is also a violation of our Terms,” one could read in the WhatsApp help center.
