A day after his official inauguration, Gabonese President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema received the resignation of Prime Minister Raymond Ndong Sima and his government on Sunday, May 4.
In a message posted on his social media accounts, the head of state paid tribute to Ndong Sima, describing him as a “man of duty and experience.” He praised the outgoing prime minister’s key role in the success of the transitional period, commending his commitment, loyalty, and sense of statecraft.
President Oligui Nguema also thanked Ndong Sima for his service and extended his best wishes for future endeavors. The resignation paves the way for the formation of a new government, expected in the coming days.
