Gabon – Death of Aaron Boupendza: President Brice Oligui pays tribute

Gabon is in deep mourning following the tragic death of Aaron Boupendza, which occurred in China. The shocking loss has especially moved the President of the Republic, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, who expressed himself publicly.

In a message posted on his Facebook page on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, the head of state shared his grief and paid a heartfelt tribute to the Panthers striker, who passed away at just 28 years old. “It is with immense sadness that I have learned of the tragic passing of Aaron Boupendza, a talented striker who brought pride to Gabonese football. I extend my sincerest condolences to his family and loved ones. May his memory continue to inspire our youth, and may God welcome his soul in peace,” he stated.
