Formalizing land titles: AJT invites Cité Vie Nouvelle buyers to register

In a press release dated Thursday March 20, 2025, the Agent Judiciaire du Trésor (AJT), acting on behalf of the former Banque béninoise pour le développement (ex-BBD), invites all purchasers of villas and apartments in Cité Vie Nouvelle to complete urgent formalities with a view to establishing individual land titles.

This step is part of the formalization of presumptive title deeds to guarantee owners legal and definitive recognition of their land rights.

Those concerned are invited to come to the annex of the Agence Judiciaire du Trésor, located in Akpakpa (Cotonou), rue pavée de l’ex-SONICOG leading to Cité Vie Nouvelle.

Registration dates and procedures

Formalities will take place from Monday March 24 to Friday April 18, 2025, at the following times:

  • Morning: 08:00 – 12:00
  • Afternoon: 14:00 – 17:00

To be taken into account, each purchaser or beneficiary must present the following documents to the annexe secretariat:

  • Number of the villa or apartment concerned
  • Identity of purchaser

Legal certainty for property owners

The initiative aims to speed up the land registration procedure in order to prevent potential disputes and ensure that beneficiaries can fully enjoy their properties. Compliance with the deadline is therefore essential to ensure that these properties are secure once and for all.
