The Urban Music Festival of Anoumabo (FEMUA) is gearing up to welcome music enthusiasts and artists from around the globe from May 14 to 19, 2024. Before the cultural celebration kicks off, the official launching ceremony is scheduled for April 2024, with a guest country of honor that has recently been announced.

The 16th edition of the Urban Music Festival of Anoumabo (FEMUA) is set to take place from May 14 to 19, 2024, focusing on the central theme of young people’s mental health. This festival, orchestrated by A’Salfo from Magic System, distinguishes itself each year by highlighting an African nation. While anticipation grows for the inaugural press conference on April 17 at Sofitel Hotel Ivoire in Cocody, it is already known that Guinea-Bissau has the honor of being the invited country this year.

Following previous honored nations such as Burkina-Faso, Senegal, the DRC, and Togo, Guinea-Bissau was visited by A’Salfo. After a journey that first took him to Guinea-Conakry, A’Salfo presented the official invitation to the President of Guinea-Bissau, H.E. Amballo Umaro Cissokho. The warm reception and shared images on social media confirm Guinea-Bissau’s joy in response to this recognition.

“It is now official! I am pleased to inform you that Guinea-Bissau is the guest of honor country of the 16th edition of FEMUA which will be held from May 14 to 19, 2024, in Ivory Coast. The announcement was made following the audience granted to us today at the Presidential Palace by President H.E. Umaro S. Embaló,” he wrote.

In the shared images, the FEMUA delegation was evidently in good company, warmly welcomed by the Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sports of Guinea-Bissau, Augusto Gomez. The event is under the high patronage of the Director-General of UNESCO, Madame Audrey Azoulay, for its 16th edition.

The FEMUA stage is therefore set to host a diverse array of artists and young talents, showcasing the cultural richness of Guinea-Bissau and highlighting cooperation and support in favor of young people’s mental health. With concerts, conferences, and workshops, the festival promises an edition that lives up to its ambitions, contributing to the cultural radiance of Africa and raising awareness of its social issues.
