Angelo Kabila, president of the Ivorian Music Producers Association (APRODEMCI), recently weighed in on three of Ivory Coast’s top rap artists during an appearance on the show Showchaud. As part of a media game, he was asked to choose which artist he would produce, manage, or block.
Faced with the trio—Didi B, Himra, and Suspect 95—Kabila offered candid insights, balancing admiration with strategic considerations.
On Himra, he acknowledged the rapper’s raw talent and energy but noted the challenges that come with his personality. “Himra is an artist who’s easier to produce than to manage,” he explained.
When it came to Didi B, a former member of Kiff No Beat, Kabila was full of praise. He described Didi B as a true professional and an ideal candidate for management: “Didi B is open, attentive, and learns quickly. He’s the perfect profile for effective management.” He even added with a smile, “I love him too much to produce him.”
Though Suspect 95 was part of the question, Kabila didn’t delve into an analysis of his work. While that doesn’t diminish Suspect 95’s influence on the Ivorian rap scene, it may suggest a touch of neutrality—or a deliberate reserve—on Kabila’s part.
