Cocody: a man arrested with rearview mirrors allegedly stolen worth 510,000 FCFA

A 45-year-old man was arrested in Deux-Plateaux with several presumed stolen rearview mirrors. The damage is estimated at 510,000 FCFA.

A 45-year-old man, identified by the initials K.P., was arrested in Deux-Plateaux, in the Cocody district, in possession of several allegedly stolen rearview mirrors. The damage is estimated at approximately 510,000 FCFA, according to information from Police Secours reported by the Ivorian Press Agency.

The events date back to September 15, 2026. A patrol from the 12th district police station noticed the man carrying several objects. He reportedly fled at the sight of the officers before being caught.

The search conducted after his arrest led to the discovery of several vehicle mirrors. According to information provided by the police, the suspect reportedly admitted to the acts during his questioning and explained that he intended to resell the equipment.

The investigations also made it possible to identify several vehicle owners who came to the police station to report the thefts and file complaints.

K.P. was brought before the Abidjan-Plateau prosecutor’s office to answer for the charges against him.
