Barcelona winger Raphinha has matched a Champions League record held by Cristiano Ronaldo following his goal against Inter Milan in Tuesday’s dramatic 4-3 defeat.
With his strike in the 87th minute, which temporarily gave Barça a 3-2 lead after trailing by two goals, Raphinha brought his total goal contributions in the competition this season to 21—equalling the record set by Cristiano Ronaldo during Real Madrid’s triumphant 2013–2014 campaign.
That year, Ronaldo notched 17 goals and provided 4 assists, leading Los Blancos to their historic “La Décima” after thrashing Atlético Madrid 4-1 in the final.
Despite Raphinha’s efforts, Barcelona were eliminated after Inter Milan equalized in the 90th minute through Francesco Acerbi and clinched victory in extra time with a goal from Davide Frattesi. Raphinha exits the tournament with 21 total goal involvements—a rare feat that puts him in elite company.
