The Gambia secured a spectacular turnaround by defeating Ghana 4-2 on Tuesday, September 29, in Accra, during the second matchday of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The Black Stars had taken a two-goal lead before collapsing. The Scorpions scored four goals to completely turn the match around and secure a second consecutive victory.
Ghana Already Under Intense Pressure
This new defeat comes five days after the 2-0 loss against Ivory Coast. Ghana therefore remains without points after two matches and has already conceded six goals.
Gambia, on the contrary, confirms its excellent start. It had beaten Somalia 2-1 on the first day and now has a total of six points.
The result increases the pressure on Ghana ahead of the remainder of the campaign, while Gambia temporarily takes the lead in Group C pending Somalia-Ivory Coast.
